Digital Product – Knitting Pattern for Luna Tabi Mittens Junior

Keep the little hands warm with these unique tabi mittens, inspired by the iconic tabi shoes with a split big toe – now in the form of mittens! These trigger mittens feature a separated index finger, allowing you to move it freely, making them both stylish and functional. 

Knitting Process
The mittens are knitted in the round, from the cuff to the fingertips. After the ribbed cuff, you’ll shape the thumb gusset, fingers, and index finger. Finally, the thumb and index finger are finished, and the mittens are blocked to the perfect size. A simple and fun pattern that gives a great result every time.

Size and Measurements
Sizes: 1 (2) 3 (4)
Length from ribbing to fingertips: appx. 14.5 (16) 19 (21) cm.
The sizes aim to fit: 0-2 (2-4) 4-6 (7+) years old.

Recommended Needles

• Circular needle 3.5 mm, 80 cm (Magic Loop)
• Circular needle 4 mm, 80 cm (Magic Loop)

Make a gauge swatch to ensure the correct size.

Gauge
Stockinette stitch on 4 mm needles: 21 stitches = 10 cm

Materials

- 1 strand of Filcolana Peruvian Highland Wool,
or…
- 1 strand of DROPS Daisy, or…
- 1 strand of DROPS Lima, or…
- Yarn scraps similar in gauge.
1 skein is enough for a pair of mittens.
