INFORMATION

‘La fleur’ means ‘the flower’ in French. A little nod to my heritage :)

The Fleur scrunchie is a unique hair accessory shaped like an almost cartoonlike flower with five petals. The flower petals are stuffed to make them soft and fluffy. Adjusting the size of yarn, needles, and amount of stuffing to your liking, to vary the size of the final product.

The flower is knitted flat and the petals are shaped using increases and decreases. Then it is connected in a circle, folded on the middle, and sewn or crocheted around and elastic while adding the stuffing.

Read through the entire pattern before starting to get an overview of the various steps.

SUGGESTED MATERIALS

- Approx. 20 g. DROPS Daisy, 110m / 50g, (100% extra fine merino wool).

- A few handfuls of pillow stuffing.

- A good hair elastic, ~Ø 5 cm.

RECOMMENDED NEEDLES AND GAUGE

- 4 mm (40-100 cm)

Gauge in stockinette on 4 mm needle:

21 sts / 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Note!  The gauge is not that important in this project. In fact - you can adjust the size and fullness of your flower scrunchie by playing around with yarn and needle sizes.
